One of the most dangerous jobs for home inspectors and electricians is inspecting or working in the electric panel. Many older panels have damaged covers that simply will not stay open.

Remember that the panel is grounded. If you are holding onto the panel cover with one hand, or your head, and touch an energized component in the panel with your other hand, you will complete the circuit and you could get electrocuted!

The most dangerous practice is resting the cover on your head while working in the panel. DON'T DO IT!

Who Should Use it?

Home Inspectors
Panel Pal is a great tool to keep in your tool belt. It's primary purpose is to hold open electric panel covers so you can safely remove the dead front for inspection. An integrated magnet holds onto the screw so they don't end up in the dirt.

Panel Pal has also been used to hold various access covers of all kinds from attic scuttles to Spa Tub access panels. You will find many uses for this tool.

Electricians
Working in an electric panel is inherently dangerous. You need to concentrate on what you are doing, and you need both hands for your work. Panel Pal is a "Third Hand". If you are touching any part of the panel, including the cover, and you come into contact with an energized component, you can get electrocuted.
